During eighth grade, when all of her friends were signing up for field hockey, Senior Adara Benz decided to join too. This is now her fourth year playing at UC High, as it has become a sport she loves and excels at.

“This year, we have two coaches that are really bringing us together and pushing us,” she explained. This has helped Benz improve individually, which has enabled her to help her team improve as a whole.

Playing Center Defender, Benz is very confident in her skills. “I believe I contribute to the team by being a leader and playing whatever the team needs,” she said. She is ready to help her team achieve its goal of winning in its league and advancing far in CIF. Her team motivates her. “They’re such dedicated girls and so much fun to play with,” she said. With her team’s inspiration, Benz is ready for the season.

Benz has recently been communicating with several colleges about playing field hockey for them. She is still debating whether she wants to play in college or not. She said, “I’m not sure if I’m going to. However, I do plan on playing in leagues outside of school.”
