Athlete: Senior Dalton Smith
Position: Catcher, Pitcher, and Third Baseman for Varsity Baseball Team
Experience: Smith has been playing baseball for 13 years. Smith is a three-year starting varsity player, who has participated since his sophomore year.
Background: For as long as Smith can remember, he has been playing baseball. According to Smith, he has been a standout on each team he has played for since Little League Baseball. Senior Kyle Holder said, “Dalton brings leadership and hard work to the team.” The work Smith has put towards his senior year has paid off in the team’s success, and can be seen in their Sixty-Second Annual Lions Tournament victory. “As well as hard work, Dalton brings an immense amount of talent that wins ball games,” said Holder. One of Smith’s biggest advantages is his position versatility. When Smith is not pitching he is either playing third base or catcher, which shows how many ways he can help a team win.
Quote: “Baseball means so much to me, because it is my life and that is why I love it,” said Smith.
