La Jolla Cove’s seals bask in the sunlight as spring nears. The cove has been a home to seals for many generations, and continues to be a prime tourist destination in San Diego. The isolated beach is the perfect place for seals to remain tucked away from the crowds that are common in the area. Seal pups are born on the sand most often in March, according to California State Parks, and the best time to view newborn seals is in the springtime. Seals congregate in La Jolla Cove in the largest groups in between the spring and summer times (parks.ca.gov).
