Top Ten Prom Themes
May 6, 2016
These days, it seems that the only things that UC High seniors think about are college, AP tests and, most importantly, Prom. Fantasies of dresses, dancing, fun times and an unforgettable night are constantly bouncing around the heads of many seniors. When it comes to any dance social event, half the fun is in the atmosphere. Here are some cool Prom themes that will get anyone into a partying mood.
10. Under the Sea— Jellyfish, pretty fish and waves. You’ll definately look mesmerizing in that blue light as you glide around the dance floor. Under the Sea is the way to go if you want to have a swell time.
9. Circus— A circus theme can bring a feel of fun and games to the Senior Prom. String lights, cotton candy and performers are sure to liven up the night. Bright colors and fire breathing is one thing, but maybe leave the clowns out of the program?
8. Super Hero— Damsels- and dudes– in distress. Who doesn’t want to be their date’s number one hero? Imagine mingling by the action-packed punch bowl. Hero or villain, this theme is sure to pack a punch. Just make sure no one tramples your cape on the dance floor.
7. Tropical— Switch your pumps out for flip flops on the dance floor (who can limbo in stilettos?) and sip from coconut cups. Sand, sun and bright flowers will definitely create a tiki-tastic evening.
6. Wild West— Okay, this one’s a long shot, but there’s a little lone ranger in all of us, don’t you think? You don’t have to wear cowboy boots with your dress or tux, but the idea of bar stools flying, pianos playing and mugs of punch sliding towards you down the bar could be fun.
5. Hollywood— Everybody wants to be a star, darling. Rolling out the red carpet and paparazzi never hurt anyone, right? Pulling up in limos and stunning the crowd with your magnificent Prom flair is to be expected. Might as well make it a night and act like the stars you are.
4. Gatsby— If you’ve seen the movie or read the book, you know just how wild and epic a Gatsby party would get. This theme would give seniors a chance to let loose and be over the top. Dedicating one last night to party at Gatsby’s standard with your classmates would no doubt be unforgettable.
3. Enchanted Forest— For a night filled with magic and moonlight, an enchanted forest theme is the way to go. Dominating the dance floor under a canopy of leaves and lights gives a fairytale-like tinge to the evening and will certainly have you dreaming about the night for years to come.
2. Masquerade Ball— Any excuse to dress up black tie and parade around a classy set is a good one. There’s something extra exciting about coming to an event masked and mysterious. The clandestine possibility of not knowing who it is you’re dancing with is electrifying in itself.
1. Around the World— Why settle for a night in Paris when you can have the whole world? Glide across the dance floor and travel the world at once; punch at the pyramids, dancing in the city of lights, and picture taking at Pisa. With this theme, the night isn’t the only thing that’s yours; the world is too.
