Over the years, there have been too many amazing stand-up comedians to count. While many of the funniest comedians came from earlier eras, there are many current ones who have been able to raise quite a few laughs.
10. Larry the Cable Guy- As one of the members in the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour,” Larry the Cable Guy is a world-renowned stand-up comedian. (larrythecableguy.com).
9. Jo Koy- Koy is most famous for his Comedy Central special Jo Koy: Don’t Make Him Angry. He is recording his second Comedy Central special on October 8, 2011 (jokoy.com).
8. Chelsea Handler- Handler stars in the late night talk show Chelsea Lately on E! Handler has appeared in many different stand-up shows, as well as a half-hour Comedy Central special. (chelseahandler.com).
7. Dave Chapelle- Chapelle is most famous for his sketch show Chapelle’s Show, which aired on Comedy Central. Dave starred in his own 2004 Comedy Central stand-up special, For What it’s Worth (imdb.com).
6. Chris Rock- After his first job acting in Beverly Hills Cop II, Rock became a cast member on Saturday Night Live in 1990. Along with his 1994 HBO special, he had a 1996 HBO special Bringin the Pain, which won two Emmy Awards (chrisrock.com).
5. Kathy Griffin- Griffin is hands down the most successful female comedian of the current century. Along with her 1998 HBO special Hot Cup of Talk, Griffin has a 2009 Bravo stand-up special. (kathygriffin.net).
4. George Lopez- Along with exceptional stand-up, Lopez produced and starred in the ABC sitcom George Lopez. Lopez hosts the late night talk show called Lopez Tonight. (georgelopez.com).
3. Demetri Martin- Martin performs musical comedy along with traditional stand-up He also authored This is a Book, which was released in 2011 (demetrimartin.com).
2. Bo Burnham- Burnham is famous for his mix of stand-up as well as musical comedy. He has produced two albums, and is currently the youngest person to record a Comedy Central special, at age 18 (boburnham.com).
1. Daniel Tosh- One of the biggest icons of the 21st Century, Tosh is most famous for Tosh.O, the show he stars in on Comedy Central. Tosh has starred in two Comedy Central specials: Completely Serious and Happy Thoughts (danieltosh.com).
